1 John 2: Remaining in Him

What has God done for you?

Hello, wonderful people!

It is right around Easter…Easter weekend, in fact. I will say that I am one happy camper. I have had so much joy for Jesus, and I have been able to feel his presence. There have been recent times when I also have not been able to really feel God. Question for you: where are you right now? Where are you putting your love? Is it in God and seeking his love as well, or have you strayed a bit and started putting your love somewhere else?

Remaining in Jesus

The greatest thing happened to Jesus this time of year that we celebrate. There is so much power in just these three days. Good Friday to Resurrection Sunday, the biggest thing happened that altered the entire course of human history. This is the thing I believe in. You must know that I believe that Jesus, fully God and fully man, died on a cross and then was raised to life on the third day. I believe by history and in a simple faith. (View me as ignorant, that is your problem, not mine. I stand by what I believe in.) I have such a passion for Jesus though. There is a desire in me to serve his will. Who do you love?

Do you love God, or do you love the world you have made for yourself?

1 John 2:17 NIV “The love of the world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.”

The God who loves you and died so many years ago for you, wants you to follow his will for your life. This may sound like something that is so enslaving, but I have some insight on this from personal experience. It is really quite the opposite. I have had to trust God with something close to my heart, and I try to take control because I think I know what is best. In reality, I do not. When I try to take control of this situation, I end up falling back into the same pattern of anxiety.

Jesus is FREEDOM!

He is freeing.

Remain in him. Look to Jesus. Reside in his arms.

Who would you die for? Is there anyone that you would give your life for without a second thought? Now think of the people who would do that for you. As sad as it may sound, not everyone has a person who would die for them. If you don’t, I am here to tell you that you actually do. His name is…

Jesus.

He loved you so much that he died for you. He is true eternal life. He is true love, sacrificial love.

1 John 2:24-25 NIV “As for you, see that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does the, you will also remain in the Son and in the Father. And this is what he promised us — eternal life.”

Remain in him. Ask someone how to remain in him if you don’t know how. I have been able to feel the difference between remaining in him and not. It does change the world. You are going to have to trust me when I say this.

You have a father who loves you and died for you.

Rethink his love,

Grace Elliot

Awesome reminder! So cool to know that we serve a God that loves up so much and no matter our faults.

That is very true. No matter what he still loves you. It’s an amazing gift no one deserves.
